Hi everyone...I've been dieting for 28 days today. I've lost 5 pounds so far. I'm very pleased with this BUT I am exhausted daily. Here is an average day for me: Breakfast = Greek 100 yogurt. Mid-morning snack = 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese and a low cal string cheese. Lunch = Salmon filet plain w/ brown/wild rice mix (the to-go cups). Afternoon snack = 12 grapes or a banana. Dinner = Taco Salad w/ ground turkey. I drink about 100 ounces of water per day. I exercise for 45 minutes (30 cardio and 15 strength) 4 days per week. I get about 7 hours of sleep per day. WHY AM I SO TIRED???? Please help...

How many calories are you eating per day? And how does that compare to what your daily goal is? How did you set your daily goal (meaning, how many pounds per week)? Are you eating back at least a portion of your exercise calories?0

Take a good multivitamin. Done wonders for me, as I. Use to fell tired after lunch. Now I take the multi and go for a run.0

How are you sleeping?
Are you on medication? Taking a vitamin? When was your last check up?
How many calories a day are you eating total? How many grams of protein, fat, carbs?0 -
My Fitness Pal has me set up for 1320 calories per day with losing one pound per week. Monday through Friday I rarely hit 1,320. I'm a little weaker on the weekends, but am very careful with my portions. I do take a multivitamin. I sleep okay, not great. I'm not on any medication. My last check up was about 4 months ago. Had a blood panel done and all checked out. The doc could not figure out why I am so tired. It's frustrating being so exhausted everyday.0

hmmmm I'm not a nutritionist by any means but at a quick glance it seems like you are consuming very little carbs.
Do you look at the section of MFP titled "NUTRITION" with a little pie chart symbol next to it (either online or app)? It gives you a general breakdown of how much of carbs, protein, & fat you are consuming. You can look at it day-to-day or by the week.
If you are way under in the carbs, then that could explain the fatigue.0 -
First, I would tackle the calorie intake. MFP already includes a deficit so you should be trying to eat at least 1320 plus at least half of your earned exercise calories. Does "weaker on the weekends" mean you tend to go over a bit? Nothing wrong with that as long as the averages work out. You may even want to change your settings to 1/2 a pound per week to give your body the nutrients and energy it seems to be asking for. Being that exhausted is not normal.
And maybe you need to go back and talk to your doc again. Sometimes we have to be a bit assertive with doctors - they're not going to feel like it's a big deal unless you make it clear that it is. Or you may have to even find a different doctor and get a second opinion.0
