Questions about salmon shelf life

So I purchased a share of wild Alaskan coho, about 25# of it for $275. And it looks delicious. They come in vacuum packed 1# containers. My understanding is that they'll be good for several months in this state, as long as I keep them in a good freezer. However, I live alone, and while I love salmon, not enough to eat it an entire pound at a time, though I could do it for dinner two days in a row, half a pound each. Once I pierce the wrapping on the vacuum packing, what's the optimal way to keep the uneaten portion of salmon fresh, and for how long will it last?

    Put the remaining amounts in ziploc freezer bags remove all air. Then refreeze they should keep for 3 months atleast.

    Oh wow, really? That's way better than I expected. Taste won't be affected No particular package will likely ever need to last more than a couple weeks.

    Texture may change slightly. The same as freezing any beef chicken or pork.
