I don't think that's unrealistic but it might be tight 2lb/week=25weeks. If you lose 2lb a week healthily it should be fine, you'll need to watch your intake carefully and consume unprocessed foods like veggies/fruits/wholegrain foods it will make it all much easier. Drinking lots of water too, that always seems to be underestimated. Also if you ever feel you've hit a wall and can't push through just check your intake again and if you think it's fine just keep pushing through, sometimes extra water consumption/that time of the month can make your weight fluctuate so don't get discouraged! If you're in the right mind set you can do this
Oh and don't forget to fit in some exercise when you can!
I've tried low carb and that actually worked for me and to keep it off, my problem was just overeating and cravings, low carb helped me with that. Sometimes I'll aim for 50g of carbs a day but some days I even eat 100g which really isn't low but considering I would eat 200+ before and feel sluggish from it, I feel much better now. (Low carb is not for everyone though, you can only try it and see how you feel..the first few days will make you feel tired and weird though)
Eating a balance of good foods though is best for maintaining as losing weight is a lifestyle change not just something you do to lose weight and go back to your old habits. For some it could be as simple as switching refined foods like white flour/rice to wholegrain and eating a little less chocolate/Soft drink. For others it might take a little more.
Whatever you choose, goodluck!0 -
It can be done... those obese pounds disappear a lot easier than the overweight pounds. But the question you need to ask yourself is, if it takes 18 months instead of 6, is that a failure? If you only lose 30 by your goal date, is that a failure?
It would be pretty terrible if you lost 40 pounds, missed your deadline, gave up, and regained. That's always a risk when you make your goals so specific.0
