Hi! Well, I've lost weight over my time back and forth on FitnessPal but still trying to really get my diabetes under control , A1C, exercise, etc. Have really cut down on the carbs and am trying to up fruit and veggie consumption. Part of my problem is my mindset that I should be able to enjoy my life and eat what I want when I want but know I need to adjust that thinking a bit.

Try to focus on other things in life that are enjoyable and view food a fuel. Add me if you'd like -- happy to lend support.0

I give you a lot of credit for realizing that how you think about diabetes is going to help you achieve the diabetes control you want. Perhaps look at your question in two parts: how will managing diabetes help you enjoy your life; and how can your food choices help you reach that goal? ~Lynn /Glucerna0

I don't have diabetes (I have reactive
hypoglycemia), but what helped me was deciding that being able to enjoy my life and not feel sick was more important to me than the food I wanted to eat. Food is fuel, like the poster above said. Food can also be a hindrance for those with problems such as ours.0 -

Thank you for your response. Reading your response, makes me think maybe I am partially on the right road of thinking...........I just need to continue to amend my mindset about my choices.0 -

Thank you for your post......you are right , it would be nice to feel more 100% each day. Even though , I have totally adjusted amount of foods I eat , I still make unwise choices at times to make me happier for "the moment." Need to change that mindset.0
