I'm looking at a pack of WeightWatchers vanilla flavour creamed rice. In the table of Nutrition Information on the side of the pack it states that per 100g, there are 18.4g of carbohydrates of which sugars are 8.8g. so "sugars" are 8.8%, right? But in the "traffic lights" graphic on the other side of the box, it shows that each pot contains 12% "sugars" (10.6g of 120g).

So what is the percentage of "sugars"? 8.8% or 12%?

It must be right or they'd not be allowed to print it that way, but what is it I'm failing to understand?

Help!

The pots are 120g so the traffic light nutritional info is based on per serving i.e one pot at 120g. The other nutritional info is based on a standardised weight of 100g which in this case will show as lower amount because each pot weighs more than 100g.

    Cronus, thank you.

I've just spotted my error. The stuff is 8.8% sugar. That amount of sugar is 12% of "an adult's guideline daily amount".

That'll teach me to read the small print.
