Please state if you have. I'd like to get a discussion going. I've had them my whole life. My right knee is much worse than my left. For the record, I never had any problems or pain growing up, I played basketball heavily. It wasn't until I was 25 and was playing basketball one day and shot the ball from a long distance and pulled or sprained something........I saw a specialist and MRI revealed nothing torn. I'll post more later.

I'm 62 and was an avid runner until May of 2012. My left knee "just gave out on my" per my profile. The rest is history. I can appreciate your dilemma though.

I do. Dislocated my right knee (torn patellar tendon, 1/2 inch bone chip from the end of my femur) in 2004. Other than that I've been ok (knock on wood)

if the dr found nothing wrong, maybe you just need to strengthen the muscles in your legs and around your knees, to pull your knees straight. ? i spend a lot of time focusing on torquing my knees out while lifting, so they don't bend in . and i focus a lot on that torque even when i'm not lifting. and i have a tore acl, strengthening my leg muscles has done a lot for my knee issues.

It's way too late to get my knees straight. Probably should have had braces or something done when I was much younger. It seems strengthening exercises for the thighs, glutes, all around the knee is supposed to help and watching how I walk upstairs, trying to turn leg a little bit so the right knee is straight, if I don't watch it, it is inward and pain will set in likely. As for squats, I've been told by a physical therapist that some of the machines for squats at the gym are dangerous for knees or risky. Some of the stair climber machines trigger the pain immediately. I don't use them or trust them.

Maybe I'll have to have the knee replaced when I get older if it gets too bad.
