Basketball Shooting - weight loss?

Shooting basketball for a good hour and a little bit of dribbling to the hoop, does it really burn hardly any calories? I was thinking it worked more on the arms.
Thanks,
Nick

Seems pretty tame. Are you sweating? Is your heart rate up?
If you're driving hard, spinning, jumping etc, can be good burn. If not, it's probably barely worth logging.0 -
I wouldn't say I'm sweating really bad. That's what I thought, I'll probably just not log it.0

Well look at the NBA players.. how do they look?0 -
Checkout => Basketball, shooting baskets, under cardiovascular exercise. It should give you a few hundred calories for your effort.0

I'd put it down as walking for an hour. Sometimes, I go to a tennis court to practice serves. I only have two balls so I hit two balls, walk or jog to the other end, hit them back, repeat for an hour. If you put enough power into the serve, it does work up a bit of a sweat.
PS It's not as boring or easy as you'd think as the aim is to get the ball into the service box consistently, and also, different corners of the box, adding spin, etc.0 -
Crazy idea. Every time you miss three shots, you have to sprint down to the far end of the court and back.0
-
That actually works for me. Even if I miss one shot I run down and back. I burn alot of calories that way.0
-
Not a crazy idea at all. I have jogged to fetch balls but I cba to sprint.0

You're going to compare someone who shot a few baskets to elite level athletes?0 -

On these boards, it is nearly impossible to tell when someone is being serious or just doesn't know what they are talking about,0 -

You crack me up. The NBA players, many of them anyhow do vigorous strength training and weight-lifting!
