Weight loss help before MEPS

So first off I am 21 years old 5'4" and 156 lbs. I am scheduled to go to MEPS on 11/3/14 and I would like to lose at least 4-6 lbs before then. I try to eat about 1100-1200 calories a day and burn off 500 calories from exercise. For exercise I run for about half and hour or so and also take my daughter on walks in her stroller. I also do about an hour of strength building circuits using the Sworkit app. My max weight for MEPS is 160 and I would like to lose as much as possible so I am not in the danger zone of hitting that. My results have slowed drastically and stalled and I am thinking it could have something to do with the fact that my body has become used to my exercise routines? I would really be grateful for any advice and tips that anyone could offer. Thanks in advance!

you appear to be talking in abbreviations - what is MEPS ?

Try to consistently eat over 50 grams of protein per day, and 30g of fats, your diary is full of carbage - on one day cupcakes were half your calorie intake.

Your exercise calories burned look really high. How are you coming up with these figures?

Cupcakes...moments of weakness haha. I'll definitely be eating more veggies and fruit. For the calories I have this app called endomondo that uses gps to count calories when I run and walk and then the sworkit app gives you the calorie count that was burned at the end of the workout. I'm still not sure about the sworkit app being all the way correct though. For me it kind of seems impossible to burn 508 calories in an hour just doing strength exercises but it just automatically syncs with MFP. MEPS is the military entrance processing station, where you need to go for a physical if you want to join the military. Thanks for your help!
  • Hey, I might be of some help here. I went to MEPS last week about five pounds over my max weight. Keep doing your regular workout routine. Eat a few hundred more calories, but eat fewer carbs. You will have less fat by the time you go to MEPS than you do now.

But if through some horrible twist you end up like me and go up over your max weight by then, just treat your trip like an intermittent fast. Don't eat anything or drink anything while at the MEPS until after they've weighed you. My recruiter gave me that advice and I managed to get within my max weight and max bf% by the time they had me step on the scale. I'll admit that the free buffets sounded pretty good, but the fast was definitely worth it.

I agree, 508 calories for 60 minutes of weight training seems really really high. MFP only gives me like 150 calories for one hour (but I don't eat my calories so I don't pay much attention). You could simply be eating too much...
