My name is Michele and I am starting today at almost 220 lbs. I did Medifast a few years ago, lost 45 lbs, but could NOT deal with the powdered food. I am hoping to do low carb and begin to exercise. I HATE exercise but was inspired by the success stories, etc. Looking forward to meeting folks on this weight loss journey....

Hi Michele, I'm starting today as well! I just tried Isagenix but couldn't deal with the powdered shakes and all the other things that you had to take. Good luck to you!!!! I'll be crossing my fingers that we both make it. I'm hoping to lose 40lbs!!!!0

Hi--add meee!!! New and looking for friends for support! I'm 33 and have 3 children..16, 4 & 2 yrs old. Doing Fit in 21 (clean eating & portion control) along with cross fit training! I lost 70 pounds on Atkins about 10 years ago, but haven't had the gumption to stick with it hardcore as before for some reason hopefully this will work for me. I'll have carbs..but only whole grain and very small portions. I'm currently 167..looking to be between 125-133!0

I am completely lost.... I assume there is no "prescribed diet" just healthy eating, is this correct? I am trying to cut out carbs, which is quite a task for me... I would appreciate any advice. Think I am going to try walking tomorrow as well.0

Hi Welome! Im down 50lbs since january. the most weight I've lost ever. I've done the all the diets WW, atkins, pills, etc. But really understanding that i don't have to deprive and i don't have to beat myself up to lose the weight and really taking care of myself was key to this time around.
i just log in MFP to keep me "aware" and eating good tasting food is key for me as well. i won't stick to something if i don't like what I'm eating, after all i like food! I'm a self taught "cook" eating at home and brinking my lunch to work has really helped. i meal plan every week, also makes grocery shopping quick cause i have a list.
exercise is still slow to come for me, but i try to walk one hour twice a week is my goal right now. i hate the gym, and my philosophy right now it to only do things i enjoy. i do enjoy getting outside for a power walk so that i will do
if you hate exercise maybe wait until you lose a little which can be motivating to want to add the exercise piece. for me the walking is more mental than to burn calories. it keeps me feeling good. 80% of weightloss efforts will be from your food anyway.0 -
carbs are not the devil. i eat carbs at every meal. just eat a caloric deficit. don't deprive yourself bread is yummy!0

Every little bit helps! I started walking on my lunch hour and have been seeing results. I started going to the gym after work and I'm just doing cardio at the moment. In January I plan to start lifting weights on top of cardio.
