Levothyroxine and sun sensitivity?

I have been taking Levothyroxine for about 7 months now, and it's not even May and I am more tan than I have ever been in my life. Normally it takes me months to get tan and lots of hard work. I can go out in the sun right now and come back twice as tan after just a few minutes or hours.

Don't get me wrong, if this is a side effect, I love it. Haha, I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Been taking it for 20 years and never noticed anything like that. Basically it is just replacing what your body isn't making on its own.

I supposed everything can have side effects but I don't think that is typical.

Absolutely not, I've been on 75mcg for more than 4 years and I'm milk bottle white! I'd love to tan...

be careful, the adverse effect is heat intolerance; dont stay too long in the sun

Hahah, meeee tooooooo!!!!!!!! I'm so pastey! I've been on it since december, and live in the desert and take my doggies walking every day. And I'm still so white. I heard that it's a common side effect. The dr. warned me that if I exhibit this, to be very careful and cover up! It will do you no good 10years from now to have wrinkly alligator purse skin and need to have cancer spots removed from your face and arms. Just be careful out there! Your skin will love you more if you protect it! The reason you're tanning so easily is because the melanin has become ultra receptive to UV, which will eventually lead to loss of elasticity and skin cancer.
  • I'm tanning like I was when I was really young (almost look dirty!) Thing is, I work on a farm. So, even in the winter I am able to maintain some color because I am outside 5 days out of the week, if not everyday. I'm interested to see if that is a side effect, though...
