    You gonna butter that toast?

Well, depending on the brand of whole grain toast, the toast might have more fiber and thus keep you fuller longer. If I'm really hungry, an apple isn't going to cut it, but a piece of high fiber toast might really help. But why such a small breakfast? Why not spread some peanut butter on that toast, and slice up the apple (or a banana) on top? Make it more of a meal.

    How about an apple sandwich?

You need to add some protein to that breakfast if you don't want to feel hungry in 30 minutes. I'd dip apple pieces in almond butter or a yogurt/almond butter dip.
  • I'd do both and put some peanut or almond butter on the toast. I had whole wheat toast with peanut butter and a banana today

Still all carbs. Add some fat and protein for longer term satiation.

Normally I'd eat either one only. I ate less than 1200 cal per day most of the time. The thing is the bread at least has some protein whereas the apple has none. I really don't like eating food that a bit ambiguous in counting its calories..

I wonder if there will ever be a day in which a breakfast thread is not created.

I think the reason people love talking about breakfast is that they are so hungry the night before and wish to fantasize about breakfast, which is what I'm doing right now.
I am currently envisioning cheese eggs and bacon, but luckily I make better decisions in the morning for some reason. I always imagine a big breakfast the night before, but then I don't really want a big breakfast when I actually wake up.

Anyway, I might have a ham steak with an overmedium egg or two.

    lol. Now I get it.

So much thought goes into breakfast on MFP. My boyfriend asked me if I wanted eggs at 7:30 this morning and the thought of it made my stomach churn.

you're a man and that is way too few for a man to be eating...actually, it's too few for a woman to be eating, too. You should probably up your calories

Soon I guess, I'm nearing my maintenance weight..

I require at least 500+ calories for my breakfast. I understand that some folks don't require as much but I would at least add some peanut butter to the toast or apple. Or better yet add peanut butter and eat both the apple and the toast.

Neither for me; I don't do well on carbs alone. A good breakfast for me is a spoonful of peanut butter and a protein shake.
