I saw this on the Dr. Oz show yesterday but I tweeked it a little bit.

2 frozen bananas
2-3 frozen strawberries
1 tbsp vanilla
1/4 cup of milk (Dr. Oz used water but I wanted it creamier - he also added nutmeg but I don't like nutmeg)
I also added a tsp of almond flavoring.

Put it all in the blender & you have 4 small bowls of fake ice cream! 78 calories per serving!

Yummy! Did you use overripe bananas??? Cuz I have several in my freezer for banana bread but I don't want to make it because I'll eat it all!!!!!

The ones I used today were a little overripe - they've been in my freezer for 3 weeks. A little brownish but when I added the strawberries, it made it a beautiful pink color. I'm telling you, I was shocked at how yummy this stuff was! I'm totally going to stock up on bananas the next time they're on sale!

That does sound yummy...instead of milk, though, I'm going to try unsweetened almond milk - lower calorie and you get the yummy almond taste as well.

    Thank you for sharing

It's really good with a bit of almond milk. I make this all the time.

Oooh, I like the almond milk suggestion.... will have to try that. Wonder what it would taste like if I used the dark chocolate flavored Silk almond milk???

I just put the recipe into MFP and you're down to 62 calories per serving using unsweetened almond milk :) The chocolate would probably be great too!

It would taste like heaven of course!! What else could chocolate, bananas, strawberries and almonds taste like when it looks like ICE CREAM!!

thanks for sharing this - I now have a alternative to freezing my homemade yogurt w/coffee creamers or nutella!

Wonder what I can supplement with the banana. It'd be great to have some fake ice cream, but I'm allergic to bananas. I love ice cream, however so does my cellulite.

This is going to sound weird but I bet avocado would work. The texture is the part you are trying to replicate. A local bar does a avocado daiquiris that is sweet. It sounds weird but it is really good.

Mango would be worth trying too.
