I Want To Read

I want to learn more about the exercises that I do and what they do to my body. I know very little about getting fit and how the body can help or hurt the process. Can anyone give me suggestions to read to get basic information?

New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's not a body builder or powerlifting book or anything like that. It teaches you how the body moves within the exercises, it teaches you how your muscles work together. It shows you how you fuel yourself and what you are naturally made to handle. It's funny and uplifting and a fast read and as a bonus, there are exercises, whole workouts and recipes and nutritional info in the second half.

Definitely changed how I see exercise and I couldnt be happier. I read it twice and skim through it often for reference. :D

Lizzy622, Greatest website looks great. Lots of ideas there.
  • I agree with New Rules of Lifting for Women. I'd also recommend Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. It can get a little technical and cause drooping eyelid syndrome in some places, but good, solid, detailed info.
