NEWB, LOVE the online support

LOVING this site... was looking for a way to do something like weight watchers, but free, I'm cheap like that....I wanted to be able to track my intake/exercise and not pay a bundle. I wasn't motivated enough to pay for it.. I'm unmotivated, I LOVE to eat for the taste and enjoyment, and I love to cook as well, so this is going to be a challenge, re-evaluating my eating habits, cooking better. I need to change my ways. I have at least 60lb to lose and up until a week ago, I was at the highest I've ever been, and I'm so ashamed of myself. I am working towards my sandan, first degree black belt in karate. I've been there two years and I'm on track for black belt next spring, I would like to be down a couple/3 uniform sizes by then, so I can do the focus test in just my tank top and pants (standard) and not be jiggling all over the place like a bowl of Jell-o. I am at the dojo 3 days a week, for a total of 4.5 hours, and over the last two years, I have noticed significant endurance/stamina and muscle improvement, but I am still fat; it's a nice low-impact workout, but my eating habits are still awful, so that needs to change, and I need to get back on my treadmill. I LOATHE 'diets' I think they are foul, full of empty promises and false hopes. What I really need to do is just buck up, and commit to the change! I won't give up sugar, I just won't, I won't deprive myself of something I love so much, but I need to re-learn self control and moderation. That's the biggest thing in this whole equation, my own self control.

So thanks for being here, this place is great, and I think it's just what I need to get motivated...

    Welcome! I came to this site after 2 good years with WW... but then they changed the plan on me... and it stopped working. This place is awesome :)

    I myself am cheap, and was previously a member of weight watchers years ago, but you will find this site is very helpful and the support is wonderful. Just remember when logging your food, be honest with everything and in the end you will see progress. Best of luck to you, and feel free to add me as a friend! :smile:

    I love the support in the 2 days I've been here and I love looking at my meal during/at the end of the day and saying "ok, I was a little high in protein but I need more Vitamin C... and my cholesterol was nice and low!" etc. It's nice to just keep track and the database is awesome!
