I know you are not going to like my answer: I exercised my way though. Yeah, it was uncomfortable..but the more i wanted chocolate, the more I worked out. It was rough, but I showed a 6 lb loss for 2 weeks!0

ditto! :flowerforyou: just keep your goals in mind and think about the good feelings you get when you see results0 -
I workout through it....but the only thing that gets rid of my cramps and back pain is chocolate...I have tried all the pills and nothing works....I bought the singles chcolate bars. I cut it into 3 pieces....so with my morning fruit I have a piece, in the afternoon I have another piece and the 3rd piece I just eat when I want it! I found it works!!!
Also, Jello makes a chocolate pudding that is sugar free and only 60 calories! It also works well!!!!
hope that helps!
Drink lots and lots of water!!!!! helps to flush it out faster!!!!!0 -
I drink more water....I look at the calories in chocolate and realize how much exercise it would take to burn it. I remember that my goal isn't instant gratification, it's permanent change in lifestyle. If all else fails.....I grab fruit!0

I also grab a piece of dark chocolate if the cravings get too bad, but I first try to walk it off, you know? Or eat some fruit. As long as you stay within reason and choose your munchies adequately (and continue to exercise and especially to drink the water), you can still lose weight through that time--or at least not gain, if the cravings are TOO strong.
Hang in there!0 -

Get yourself a good quality dark chocolate like Lindt and have a square of it per day (only if you have the craving). It's not that many calories and should help stave off the cravings. Don't gobble it down, either. Take bites of the square and savor it as it melts in your mouth.
I've heard every excuse of why women crave chocolate during their periods, most saying it's the sugar, but honestly, I had plenty of sugary stuff in the house when mine came and I didn't want any of that. I just wanted the chocolate.
There's got to be some compound in the chocolate that our body is looking for (or has influence over our body) and we haven't discovered what it is.0 -
My answer will probably not be the one you were hoping for either, but . . . just say no. Exercise and drinking lots of water will help. But essentially you have to stay strong and committed to your goal.
Good luck!

Black & Green makes a 70% Cacoa bar of dark chocolate. My husband and I both enjoy a square or two (20 calories per square) whenever we are craving chocolate. I find I enjoy it, but not in a way that makes me crave more.0

I do this most everyday anyway one square of the 85% dark is 58 calories and most of the time the only sweet indulgence I have. It has antioxidants and makes your brain release endorphines (sorry I can't spell). Agree with the other responses too, water, exercise, eat healthy. Also avoiding caffeine and alcohol helps with cramps and soreness.0 -
I go for dark chocolate chips to nibble when I need to satisfy the cravings. I also have to talk myself into getting up and excercising. I find the food cravings I can curb with drinking lots of water and a few chocolate chips. I have issues with fatigue and wanting to sleep 14 hours a day during that time of the month. I try to make a goal out of working out more to keep my mind occupied and keep all screaming crazy lady fits to a minimum. My family says the extra excercise helps my mood.0

I work out!!! Go for a walk, a run, pop in some Richard Simmons LOL Have a weight watchers ice cream! Chew gum!0

Plan at least one snack into your calories each day that will help satify those cravings, but in a small amount.
For instance, if craving chocolate, plan a snack of cocoa covered almonds (they rock), or dark chocolate almond milk. If you crave salty, have a snack-sized bag of potato chips with your lunch.
The point is not to deprive yourself, but not go overboard either. And always continue exercising, and drink extra water at TOM - this will help eliminate or reduce cramps and bloating.0 -
Well, I just workout and I bought these Kashi Oatmeal Soft Cookies which are soooo good, but they are 130 calories a piece so I just have one which is just enough for me but if I want another I just take something off my food diary that I have not ate yet and replace it with that. So I hope this will help.0
