Well I have decided to take my weight loss a bit more seriously as I am the heaviest I have ever been.
I have been working out at the gym 3 times a week which has reduced my cholesterol to the lowest it has been since 2006 so now I just need to get my weight down.......

I take crestor for my cholesterol and L-Thyroxine for my thyroid which obviously doesn't help the weight issues but I decided to make a big effort to loose 17kg......

Does everyone use the pre-set % for fat/carbs/proteins ?? Also 1200 cals a day seems quite low.... but I will factor in my exercise and see how things look in a few weeks...

I am not really a fan of diet plans so decided to make my own.... and basically decided to cut out as much 'bad' carbs as I can so only bread I make myself that has lots of grains in it and really cut down potatoes and pasta. If I grill as much as possible and eat lots of fish, lean meat, veggies and fruit berries I surely can't go too wrong....

I don't have a sweet tooth and probably only eat about 100g choc ( dark Lindt ) over a month but put a piece of cheese down for more than 10 secs and I'll eat it....

I am going to try to have snacks between meals to keep my metabolism going..... something I've never really done before..... what are good things people snack on ?? Banana is an easy choice but is it a good one ??

If anyone has any tips or advice esp given the meds I take I would greatly appreciate it.....

I'm not sure what you weigh or any of your personal stats but unless you're pretty close to goal weight already, you shouldn't be at only 1200 calories for intake already. You may want to check your weight loss per week goal. It should only be set at approx. 1 lb. per week loss. That should give you more than 1200 calories (before exercise) to eat each day.

check out the eat clean stuff....sounds a lot like what you are talking about. It is good stuff, but I modified mine to meet the needs for me and my family. You choose how to get there on your terms....don't forget a multivitamin. That was the key I missed and when I started eating differently, I needed to add it in there to see the weightloss. Good luck! (check local library for books if you don't want to buy - or ebay for cheap copies of the book!)
