CREATINE! (PreWorkout supplement)

I've just started taking creatine before my workouts and I can definitely tell a difference in my performance. I'm still a little new in the supplement world, so who else uses a preworkout? If so, what do you use, and how long are your workouts?

You may see a weight gain on creatine... As it forces more water into your muscles. Some more then others, When I was lifting hardcore I could gain 10 lbs in 8 weeks on creatine But then would pee most of it out after the cycle... That being said I like BCAAS before and after my workout.0

Creatine isn't really a "preworkout" supplement.

I am using Pre-Workout. However, the one I am using does not have Creatine in it. I spoke with a rep in The Vitamin Shoppe and he said that Creatine isn't all that great for women. He suggested I use one without Creatine and so far I love it. I am usually working all day from 7:30am-11:00pm. So as you can imagine, I'm usually pretty tired by time I get off. I take my preowrkout right before I leave work as it takes about 30 mins for me to even get to my gym. I noticed that even though I would usually be tired, I had plenty of energy to get a full hour workout in including cardio and weightlifting. Btw, the kind I use is: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/optimum-nutrition-essential-amino-energy-watermelon-270-g-powder/op-1086 taste great too! Sorry for the long post! Hope this helps!0

Creatine is probably the most proven supplement out there. Preworkout, while many like it, is not any proven than any form of caffeine or more generally waking yourself up. As for creatine, the timing isn't relevant - you don't have to take it pre or post workout, but rather just take it once a day at a convenient time. I'd personally buy some that isn't packaged with all the other pre-workout crazyness; just get some plain old monohydrate from a reputable brand.0

There's no reason women shouldn't use it. You eat foods that contain creatine. Your body needs creatine. Adding extra creatine isn't a bad idea. There was a study done recently that suggested that women who take creatine experience decreased depression. Many websites now suggest taking creatine to help reduce depression without needing a prescription medication. The rep at The Vitamin Shoppe is uninformed and suggesting a preworkout with amino acids is sort of hilarious because along the same lines as creatine we get aminos from the food we eat.
The only thing I caution people to do is increase water intake when you start taking creatine.0 -
As has been noted, creatine is not really a pre-workout, although it is included in many of them. That being said, creatine is a solid supplement:

This is what I take (I put a scoop in my coffee, it doesn't change the flavor or texture of my coffee).

Creatine is one of the most widely used and widely tested supplements.0
