Knowing Your Activity Level

One thing that gave me pause in determining my goals was the question about my daily activity level. I really wasn't sure what would be considered an "active life style". I generally consider myself to be active. I'm an Early Childhood Educator, which means the vast majority of my day is spent chasing toddlers around, lifting the, carrying them, pushing a stroller, taking them on walks, etc. Additionally, I don't drive so walking is a primary means of transit for me, and I'm trying to get into working out regularly (at least three times a week).

My question is, to put myself as an "active" person, would that be accurate, or would that end up overestimating the number of calories I need?

Thanks!

Activity level is based on your activity outside of exercise. You then log exercise and eat a portion of the calories back (MFP tends to overestimate).

To me, it sounds like you are active before exercise.

Try it for a couple weeks and you will know if you have selected the right activity level based on what happens with your weight.

Thanks so much, that's super helpful. I was confused about whether or not it was before or after exercise, so that helps. I will try it set as active for a bit and see how it goes. Thank you, appreciate it!
