Why is it that when I eat atleast 3000+ calories on a daily basis with a miniscule amount of exercise in India, I lose quite a bit of weight while in Australia I can gain weight just by drinking water?! Is this something to do with climate?

Yes, it's the climate. The heat makes you expand.

hmmm maybe it was a hidden term on your visa that you must carry several extra pounds as long as you are in the country, to be surrendered again at the airport.

A lot of people think of exercise as going to a building and jumping on a hamster wheel. Whereas for example, Depending on your situation you could have a lot of walking just to get from point A to point B or perhaps you have to ride a bicycle or use other forms of public transportation compared to just taking a car. Depending on what you do for work while in India you could also be burning many more calories during a typical day.

If your activity isn't really different from one country to the next it could just be water weight gain possibly from sodium or anything else that could maybe just be a coincidence

You do realise that a silly question (am I gaining weight because of the climate) does not warrant a sensible and factually correct answer, right?

I'll just assume ALL your answers are silly then, because frankly I can't tell the difference.

Because we all know that last part is not true either.

Because everything is backwards and upside down in Australia. Summer is winter, up is down, in is out, M is W, etc.
