Hello :) Nice to meet you. HELP!!!!

I'm new. I was recently on Nu viva but I don't like how I had to eat so little and take pills to control my weight. Now I'm trying to do it healthier and not so fast paced. Its tough as hell to control myself when my family eats a lot of junk and I've got to be around it all. Does anyone have any suggestions for controlling themselves around family? Especially with the holidays!!! HELP!!!!

I envangelise about my weightloss unashamedly, and gloat horribly about the things I can now do that I couldn't a while ago, and they still can't, all disguised as loving concern for my Dad's diabetes and my Mum's high blood pressure. I also hold on to the fact that my partner is losing too, which means (fingers crossed) we won't ever get separated due to weight related ill health. Its all long term, and sometimes seems like little to cling too, but its enough!

The holidays are a nightmare - we are planning our Christmas menus NOW, so we can have lots of lovely flavour but not too many calories.

Hi there, Jane and Steph. I'm Steve. I have lost 116 pounds since January. Feel free to add and message me for advice, motivation, and or support. The holidays can be an extremely tempting and trying time for a diet. I have lucked out by having an amazing support group including my wife and friends. I am looking to pay it forward.

    Steve
  • Thanks everyone, and great advice, Janeesc!! I hate how everyone uses this continuous bombardment of holidays as excuses to recklessly consume! Add me as a friend, people! Id love if you helped me through this :):)

One thing that has been great for me is pre-logging. I log what I eat before I eat it. Then if I see a snack I can see what it will do to my day. I have decided not to eat a lot of things just because it will throw me over for the day. Then I have to consider if an hour on the treadmill is really worth it. I also have a vision board with pictures of where I want to be. % minutes of satisfaction are worth it most days.
