Can the sugars from fruit be added to a separate sugar category?

I eat a fair amount of fruit per day. Berries in the morning, several bananas and apples and 3 - 5 oranges a day. Most of my added sugars are from the two coffees I drink per day, 1 tsp in each cup and a little bit of milk. Some days I have milk and cereal, other days I just stay with a greek yogurt/almond milk/berries/banana shake. I don't drink juices, pop, or a lot of crap. It's just that adding fruit sugars gets lumped in with table sugar and added sugars. I would like to see that as a different category. Just wondering if that is at all possible?

Why don't you just track fiber in sugars place so you don't have to see the red numbers? Problem solved.

I don't see how... nutrition labels don't differentiate between the 2, so I'm not sure how MFP could.

put in a separate section for fruit and veg in your diary and put your fruits in that section at least you can see what sugar is from fruit and what is added sugars. MFP are going to add an additional category on the new version when it comes out

OP doesn't seem to log much anyway, but there's no data on "added" sugars just as the body doesn't have an "added" or a "refined" receptor to tell the difference in any case. So "no".

The FDA is working on changing food labels to include added sugars. Until that happens, I don't think MFP would have the ability to differentiate between natural and added sugars. I got tired of seeing my sugar be over because of fruit too, so I don't even track it anymore. Changed it to fiber.

Here is a link to the proposed changes to food labels: fda.gov/Food/GuidanceRegulation/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation/LabelingNutrition/ucm385663.htm
