You will need to supply a bunch more details. Age, weight, approx body fat, experience level etc.

The more effort you put into your question, the more effort people will usually put into an answer.

    Not happening.

Could happen...but would be like watching paint dry LOL

If you eat at maintenance/slight deficit if might be possible, but body recomp (that's what you're describing here) is very fickle. Most people (myself included), subscribe to bulk/cut cycles for gaining mass and losing fat. The results will come quicker (e.g. 1 year vs. 5 years)

Well yeah, I mean of course that approach would work but I think the likelihood of failure would be a result of how absurdly long it would take and the person would get fed up with not really being able to see the hard work being put in like you would on a traditional bulk cut phase.

Oh, I absolutely agree...I spun my wheels during the first 12 weeks of my bulk last winter recomping because I was too scared to eat more. Gained all of my weight in the last 8 weeks when I got out of my own head.

Easier to just gain muscle along with some fat and chisel it down later my friend.
  • Go with protein. In other words, eat a lot of eggs or use protein supplements. You can get good deals at www.myprotein.com

More protein before and after training, and carbs, carbs, carbs!
