I've been working out with JNL fusion for about a month now only to get on the scales and find that I have gained! What a let down. I keep telling myself to just trust the process and not give up. Feeling alone in this battle.

Hi Katieboo. I'm Cat. I'm no success story yet; just getting started (again). But I've had good success in the (somewhat distant) past, and I feel your pain.
I don't know what JNL fusion is, but could it be that you've gained muscle? Muscle weighs more that fat, ounce for ounce. What about inches? Did you happen to take any "before" measurements? If not, take some tomorrow morning. By the way, your picture looks lovely.
And nutrition (diet is a four-letter word). I've had luck with a very boring diet of protein (mostly grilled or baked chicken breast) and vegetables (I know, ugh). Also, they say to have four or five small meals, but who has time for that?! Lo-carb, hi-protein has worked for me, but, God it's boring. And when I ate small, frequent, healthy meals of that type, I noticed a difference right away. Maybe it was water weight at first, but I don't mind!
Move more, eat less. And put on your Blinders. Which means Don't think about it, Don't hem-n-haw, Just DO the Exercise.

Thank you so much Cat! I will take you advice and put it into practice. I did take some measurements so maybe I should take another look at them? Thanks for the tips. High Protein/low carbs. Now to put on the blinders! its nice to know I'm not alone!

Yeah, you're most likely...actually, you're not gaining muscle. If you're not weighing all your food and being sure you're eating at a deficit. Even if you're working out, but accidentally eating at a surplus, you could gain weight.0

Ask ourself if a diabetic (I'm not) could it eat it and you can't go wrong , keep your routine up and you'll reaches that plateau and boom.....off lbs will drop0

Thanks for the tips! I'm not giving up. I think I'll just weigh in once a week. I know I have to press through. To Feistycat JNL (Jennifer Nicole Lee) fusion is a 45 min kick your butt workout DVD it comes with 12 you combine weights with cardio. I like it because I can do them at home. I agree with the calorie tracking. Do it 100% and be honest 100%. You are only cheating yourself if you don't.
I do not agree with the statement you can not change body composition in a deficit. If you are working at an intensity high enough to trigger growth and are eating enough proteins to support it. You can. I do doubt you have been experiencing muscle growth without lifting though. Probably over rewarding the hard work.0 -
I've been alternating my weights between 5 and 10lbs depending on the exercise. I'm happy to say I'm down 2 lbs. I believe I had some water weight gain. I've decided not to weigh in but once a week.

Try a 12-lb weight next time You can do it!
Whoa, wait. I just viewed the JNL Fusion video, and now I think maybe a 12-lb weight might be too much, considering the speed and intensity of JNL. Holy Moley! Way to go, Katieboo!! Keep it up!

Hi Katieboo! Please don't give up. You are correct when you say you need to trust the process and not give up. Do not let your mind play tricks on you. You are accomplishing something every day. You have accomplished so much already by taking on this incredibly difficult journey! Make sure you are drinking plenty of water (with lemon!). Also, make sure you are not weighing yourself at random times and days. Try to stick with one day at the same time. For me it is every two weeks, Saturday mornings at 10:30am. Another tip, try not to weight yourself the week before, or after your "time of the month." I did that once and it said I weighed five pounds more than I actually did. Good luck to you! I suggest DEFINITELY weighing EVERY week during your cycle, so you can track weight gain and loss patterns that are affected by your period, so you dont freak out and think you gained weight - when it happens at the same time every month. I mean, just until you get used to your own natural ebb and flow.
