I need some motivation!

I joined MFP ages ago with the goal of reducing my weight and waist as I've gradually added on the pounds over the last few years.
I'm not obese or anything, but i want to stop gaining weight before that happens!
My problem is that i can seem to stick to any kind of healthy diet, and crisps and chocolate call to me to give me a boost mid-afternoon. I need ideas of things that i can snack on while sat at my desk that will satisfy my cravings but not be full of fat and sugar.
My bf makes large portion sizes for dinner, and i'm cutting these down and reducing how much i drink during the week (I've stopped having a couple of beers every night), so i'm making a start, i just need a little push from other people to keep me on the straight and narrow!
