For me, I find that I don't want to waste any of my calories, sugars, fats.. on drinks so I stick to plain water. This journey is going to be different for everyone of us. It's a matter of tweaking all the information you will get and figuring out what will work best for you0

Fluids are fluids and it does not need to be plain water. You also do not need 8 glasses a day - some people need more, some less, depending on individual circumstances.
