I add lemon or sometimes a crystal light type powder to my water occasionally. I actually only usually add about half a packet at a time for a 20 oz glass of water because its too sweet. Lemon or lime juice is actually my favorite and I keep one of those little squeeze things of lemon juice at my desk at work. :
  • hmm that's a good idea. i was thinking of making some kind of iced green tea with lemons and limes in it or something, that seems like a great quick alternative! thanks

    I drink plain old water.

I hated it about 10 years ago, but forced myself to drink it.

Now I drink at least 16 cups a day!

I recommend just drinking it. It would be hard for me to get through the [at least] 75 oz. of water I drink a day if I had to put something in it every time. Plus, all of the acidity in the lemon and even the crystal light stuff makes my throat feel raw. Just tell yourself you have to do it and do it!

I mostly just drink water. I prefer it chilled with ice. Not a fan of water at room temperature. Now and then I infuse it with some fruit and/or some cucumber, but I mostly just drink it plain.

Try putting some cucumber peel in a pitcher. Sounds weird if you haven't tried it but it's really delicious. Extra refreshing and sweet.

there are bottles that have "infusers" so you can put slices of citrus fruits, berries, cucumber, mint leaves etc... sort of like a 'fresh tea" .. as a side note there is also a "tea revitalization going on" .. visit "Teavana" (Starbucks tea shop) and ask them to recommend a non-caffeine blend that you don't need to add sugar to in order for it to taste "good"...

most herbal tea's will also have some medicinal value so aside form hydrating.. you'll be nourishing too.
  • If you don't mind something warm, herbal tea will break the monotony.

I say just suck it up and drink water. You can try lemon or other citrus juices to wean yourself onto it but honestly you need to just adjust to water. I drink at least a gallon a day, being hydrated is awesome.

    not everyone likes plain water...

again people need to suck it up and learn to like it. Most people who doesn't like plain water have been or are addicted to things like coffee, tea, or soda drinks. You'll be doing yourself a favor if you learn to enjoy it.

Flavored water, look for low cal, low carb and low sugar (otherwise it's basically a soda).

Start using less flavor each time and you'll learn to enjoy your water, it's soooo good. Carrying around a refillable bottle of water is also good, every time you look at it, it'll remind you to drink.
