You are green. You are leafy.
You are nutritious. You are delicious.
You are low in calories, high in fibre and calcium. You keep me feeling full for hours.
I can eat so much of you and not exceed my calorie goals.
You're just as good steamed with lunch, roasted with dinner, or served raw with some hummus dip as a late night snack.
You're available year-round at a low price.
Broccoli, I salute thee.

    Ode To Broccoli:

    I replace you with beans,
    I replace you with peas.
    You're very nutritious,
    But eat you? Oh, please.

    You look very pretty,
    Sitting in a bunch.
But when I even smell you,
    I nearly lose my lunch.

    "You can't even taste it!"
    Say all of the hoes.
Next time that I hear it,
They get punched in the nose.

    Broccoli, your healthy,
    Nutritious and green.
But when Mom made me eat you,
    I knew she was mean.

I'm glad that your out there,
    Helping mean mothers.
But stay out of my kitchen.
I will leave you for others.

    ;)

    :)

Raw, roasted or steamed till done,
O broccoli! My heart you have won.
From the peeled stalk that's sliced,
    to the florets so nice,
You're like two veggies in one!

    When the day wanes
    And I'm pained to see
my diary is short on Vitamin C
I open the fridge and take a peek
    It's broccoli I choose
    Not spinach or a leek.

    I really love my broccoli
Roasted, steamed or in stir fry
But the gas that it gives me
    Make me wanna cry.

    :D

Love broccoli, and love the creative notes in this thread :)
I would join in, but at 1am my brain is too dead.

That isn't in poem form, nor does it rhyme.

    I'm just sayin.

    I'll rearrange your words.

    Ah, I Salute!
    But to keep it down,
Need to juice it with fruit.

(Was that so hard? I ask you.)

    Ah. Broccoli.
    I only like it raw.
    I need more recipes
    To shove in my maw.

That's probably the worst poem I've ever written. But it's true! Sigh.
