So I have heard that DESIGNER WHEY is a really good protein powder and I was going to try some but I can't find it. I have found one called "Super advanced whey protein" and one that is " "New" Jillian Natural Whey"

Has anyone tried them? Is this basically the same thing? Or are they any good?

Oh and one called "professional strength whey protein"

Not the same one as the ones you talked about, I just started this one: http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Metabolic-ReSet-Chocolate/dp/B000FL22FK

    And it's AWESOME!

I'm full literally all day. No cravings.
  • I use the Body Fortress Advanced Whey Protein powder. It tastes great and works wonders. Whey protein is whey protein is whey protein. The thing you have to look for is the concentration or the amount per scoop of protein that's in the specific drink you buy. Other than that, it's all to taste. :) So bon appetit! Time to feed that muscle!

I don't know any of those particular brands, but you can decide which is best by checking a few things: calorie content, serving size, protein per serving, sugar and sodium per serving, and then check the ingredient list to make sure it is made out of stuff you recognize/ can pronounce. Just like anything else you put in your body, these are good indicators of the value of the product. Once you've picked those that look good based on those criteria, you can start figuring out which ones taste the best.

    Good luck!

I agree, it's all the same, it just depends on the amount per scoop. I just got some Solgar Whey to Go and it's great. It's all natural, has 20g protein, 2g carbs and less than 1g sugar. I put it in vanilla soy milk so the flavor is good and I don't miss the sugar.

    ^^Not all the same.
Some of them are made cheaper. You'll notice when you look at the cholesterol and sugar contents of them.

Scivation, Optimum Nutrition, Dymatize are all good companies for whey.

I skip the wal-mart and GNC brands.

I agree! I use Kaizen brand strawberry banana and it has 24 protein with 2 carb and 1 fat per scoop and is only 115 calories. I mix with unsweetened chocolate almond milk and it is just wonderful!! even mixed with just water though it tastes great!

online stores are usually a lot better. You're gonna have to pay for shipping unless you find a code or spend over 75 bucks probably, but it still comes out cheaper.

I'm sorry but I HAVE to disagree. All whey protein is NOT the same, not the same, not the same. Use the internet and do some research about other brands not just what Walmart has for sale.

The nutrition in this stuff is not the best either. 120mg of cholesterol and 135mg of sodium isn't ideal. The stuff I use is 130 cals, 0 fat, 2mg cholesterol, 30mg sodium, 1g carbs, 0g sugar, and 30g of protein per scoop Plus it has a a glutamine complex and all your bcaa's.

Now how is that the same? Go to bodybuilding.com and use the protein powder finder and see just how different they can be.

Do you not have a bank account? I mean you get a debit card with any bank account. Anyways you could use Google to find other stores besides Walmart that sells better brands.

And the other brand that I alternate with that (not Walmart, so ease up, dude) has 95cal, 0fat, 45sod, 1g carb, and 56g protein. Some things are better for people to "start" with. So please don't belittle other people on a thread that is supposed to be helpful. Have a nice day.

whey protein is whey protein is whey protein....unless broken down into concentrate to save money, lots of sugars and flavourings are used, or various gums and thickening agents are used to add to the creamy textures humans love!

Make sure to look at what is on the box. They are not all the same.

Also @JessesGirl05 - if you cant order online, maybe you have a friend or family member who will allow you to use their card and you pay them back. You will save a lot more this whey (pun intended...) and you have more variety :)
  • Exactly why I said to look at the stuff in the choice you buy. Thank you!
  • i use designer whey. bought it from the vitamin shoppe

i think it tastes pretty good mixed with fruit. but you can stand to just drink it mixed with water. if you must.

I'm not belittling, I am disagreeing with what you said. It's the first thing I say "I'm sorry but I HAVE to disagree." What you said is not accurate. I'm sorry if you don't like hearing that. I just don't want someone to think they can just buy ANY protein powder and expect great results. I understand you are trying to be helpful, but if I think what you said isn't correct, I am trying to be helpful by correcting it. Nothing personal, just trying to get the facts straight.

Btw what is that "5cal, 0fat, 45sod, 1g carb, and 56g protein" you mentioned. It's sounds great.

I use the french vanilla Designer Whey for my breakfast smoothie every morning. i mix with OJ and frozen blueberries and its really good, no funky after taste. I like it because its all natural so theres no artificial sweeteners or chemicals.
