The Alton Brown of Yoga?

I'm 35, 330 lbs, and feel tight... just... everywhere. I'm eating right and exercising, but I really feel like I should be working on flexibility as well.
My problem? Besides letting myself get so fat my skeletal/muscular systems can no longer handle it? I can't deal with all the "chakra" and "energy" b.s. I suppose I could just mute the videos, but is there someone out there with a no-nonsense approach to yoga/flexibility?
On a related note, would it be beneficial to get a massage to help "loosen me up"? Note that I've never had one before and am fairly ticklish.
Thanks!

Maybe try DDP Yoga?
There are 1000's of yoga videos on YouTube that you can check out.0 -
OMG! DDP Yoga was made for you (used to be called Yoga For Regular Guys). Developed by Diamond Dallas Page, it gives you high cardio while building strength and flexibility. One of the reasons he came up with this was because he couldn't deal with all that "namaste s#!t" - his words. I've been doing it for the last 8 months and LOVE it. You can search YouTube for DDP Yoga and see several incredible transformations as well as clips from the DVD's so you can check it out to see if it's for you. ddpyoga.com is the only place to get the DVDs right now.0

Of approx. 30 different yoga teachers I have had over the years, only 1 mentioned energy and that was only one time in a passing reference.
As the poster above mentioned there are 1000's of different videos. If you do videos, leave the sound on so you can hear the advice about positioning/alignment provided. Also yoga has many different modifications and is an exercise that anyone can do. I would recommend taking a beginner yoga class, preferably at a yoga studio, where you can get personalized attention. My gym started a yoga for curvy people class. Stupid name but you get the idea.
A massage would only temporarily loosen up your muscles not improve flexibility. Do you stretch after your workouts?0
