Question on Standing

Two months ago I started doing a nasty daily commute 1.5 hours to 3 hours each way. On top of sitting in my little car for 3 to 5 hours a day I was sitting on my behind for 7-8 hours during my work day. Last week I purchased a Varidesk system that allows me to stand or sit at my desk. The last three work days I did not sit down one time at my desk. I sat in a company car a few times and at tables during short meetings, so my question is: What is the calorie burn difference between say standing all day versus sitting ?
I have kept my profile on sedentary as I am just not sure if "standing" all day even reflects an active lifestyle. I can feel it in my legs throughout the day but I am just not sure - maybe switch to mildly active ?
I have already had reduced tension in my back and sciatic nerve so I am going to stick with it.

I remember this being discussed on here before, and I'm pretty sure the answer ended up being "not much of a difference". However, there are other health benefits to standing vs. sitting. I would maybe put your profile on lightly active...few people are truly sedentary anyways.0

Yeah I am happy with my current calorie allotment so I will probably stick with it.

I stand all day and have for a while. Don't notice too much difference in calorie burn...
I've read 20-50 calories more/hour. Not sure if I trust that.0 -
I log mine, and did lose more weight when I started standing for 2 hours a day. Probably because it is more than just standing, I do a lot of shifting from foot to foot, or pacing around when I hit enter on my computer and wait for the process to complete. . . The calorie burn will be lower for smaller folks.
Do whatever makes sense for you.

If you use the Varidesk app, it will tell you how many standing calories you are burning each day. We have several in my workplace. My standup workstation is a bit different as I had it before we discovered Varidesk, but I still use the app. I was wondering about entering them as calories burned as well.0
