Hope I am posting this in the right spot. If not I'm sorry.

Ok. So in August when I weighed myself. I weighed 227. Honestly because I couldn't see any changes, I thought I was still the same weight. Yesterday I weighed myself and the scale said 239. My eyes grew wide. I got confused because my clothes are looser and tummy has gotten smaller. My thighs feel smoother though they look a bit bigger. The weight gain is what I'm not understanding.

Its really just math, I suspect all the calories arent being counted, which is an easy thing to do. Dont despair, start again with a modest goal of 1 pound per week. Hitting your goal in week 1 will build motivation to keep the good habits going. Good luck.

I think she is saying she has not been counting. Is that right, OP?

Anyway, did you take measurements in August? Also, you did say your thighs look a bit bigger...

I didn't think to take measurements in August. My thighs were lumpier in August. My thighs do look a bit bigger to me. I had a procedure done the end of July and couldn't work out for a few weeks. During that time, I started eating cleaner. About 2 weeks ago, I started going back to the gym. As far as calorie counting, I'm doing my best to count correctly.

Over the weekend I went to my mother's house. She said I put on weight,( actual word she used was fat) my stomach and butt got bigger. (Yes her comment shocked me. No I didn't get upset) Someone said the extra weight might be muscle. Others say it's fat. Not knowing where it came from sort of bothers me. This is a rough journey.

1-It's not muscle. You have to work hard to gain muscle, and you can't do it on a deficit.
2-Eating clean does not mean weight loss. You can get fat by eating clean.
3-Going to the gym doesn't make you lose way. Calories in-calories out.

Log accurately, weigh everything, lose the weight. You can do it.
