Over the TOP Ads....making MFP too slow!

You have officially put too much ad crap on the website. The website has become painfully slow because now it is trying to load all the video commercials. I understand it's more $$ for your website, but now it has almost too much for your server to handle. As soon as I can find another option, I'll switch.

I use google chrome and downloaded adblocker from the google store. No ads at all now (however some parts of the website are still slow, especially the recent discussions section).

I use a tablet and have now set it to NOT download images. Works wonders and it uses less data.

Until I used Firefox a week or so ago because my Chrome wasn't working...I had never seen an ad on this site. In fact, I was wondering how on earth MFP could operate without ad revenue.

I hate the ads that are now in my feed. I get, like, keep it free, but come on!

Another vote for AdBlock - I never see any of the ads everyone complains about. Takes less than a minute to download...

Not that I am against adblocker software, but does it occur to you guys that you are spelling out how to explicitly circumvent the very revenue stream that helps keep this website free for your use on the forum that the ad revenue helps pay to maintain?

It's kinda like standing inside a store talking openly about how you are shoplifting the items inside...

Not to start an argument, but I think it's more like standing in a store talking about how the marketing department's "impulse buys" in the checkout lane aren't going to fool you!! haha

    I love adblock

    I love adblock

    I do too ;)

I just am not sure of the morality of discussing it's use on the very forum you are using it on :)

I don't feel in any way obligated to see the ads anywhere. I don't feel guilty about DVRing my fave shows, then FFing through commercials either.

This brings up an interesting tech question -- does the server side of the system "know" that I have blocked ads? If it doesn't, then it really doesn't matter at all, I guess.
