I was down to 178 but now I'm back to 183 for no reason. I'm not significantly over on sodium ever and I track EVERYTHING I eat except for yesterday and today. I just don't understand..,,,

It's gonna be okay, hon! I have had a recent experience- some random pounds came on, and I still have no idea how they got there. All you can do is take care of tomorrow- it'll be okay. You are dedicated, so this little setback isn't going to hurt you. Keep fighting!0

It happens. You didn't gain that weight. Trust me, you didn't. Give it a day or two and lots of water and you'll be fine - I promise!!! And if I'm wrong, you can come beat me up - but really you are. Even one or two days of not logging, the sodium catches up with you even when we think it doesn't.

I just got the implanon. Maybe that's it. I haven't, and probably won't get my period. I'm gonna be so mad if the implanon makes it hard for me to lose weight!0

I'd question if it's TOM as well - I just experienced a 7 pound swing due to that! Like it doesn't suck bad enough!0

If it's that time of the month it's normal to gain up to 7lbs of water weight! Also, do you weigh yourself the same time of week at the same time? Bc if not, I recommend that you start to. For instance, weigh yourself every Monday morning and don't touch the scale until the following Monday morning.0

Have you been drinking tons of water and then suddenly not drank the usual amount in the past couple days. If I do that, I gain....just an idea?0

Hit your calorie target every day. I see you're significantly under on many days. Go back to basics and stick to eating as clean as possible. I see you have a lot of misc treats, and go out to eat pretty regularly. Check the link in my signature for a list of good foods. Pick and choose from that list to prepare good meals. Prepare your own food as often as possible. Consider eating 5-6 proper smaller meals a day instead of 3 meals + "snacks". Once a week, take a free day and eat whatever you like, like your olive garden or subway.0

One of the side effects is weight gain... 2 lb.. But it could just be taking a bit for your body toadjust..

It's probably that (given if everything in your diet/exercise have remained the same). When you mess with your natural hormonal balance, it can change all kinds of things - weight being one of them.
Try not to let this mini setback get you all distressed. It may just take a little time for your body to get adjusted to the change. As long as you stay on your plan, your weight will come off. Eat as cleanly as possible, and it will literally melt away. Seriously.0 -

I can not eat 5-6 times a day and actually prefer to eat 3 meals. I work 9-1 and actually can't eat at all during that time. I'm on topamax and it definitely restricts my appetite. I'm really working on trying to eat my 1200 calories. I've not been at this long enough though to be at the point where eating under is making me gain. I should still be losing, and significantly. I am obese so again, eating a VLCD shouldn't matter too much as long as I'm getting what I need nutritionally. I do that by taking vitamins that my doctor has given me.0 -

Go back over your food diary. Where's the daily fruit and veggies? Where's the pure protein at every meal? Where's the complex carbs (brown rice, whole wheat pasta, brocolli, etc.?) I see a lot of refined carbs (Pringles every day), 100 calorie packs, and "quick add" calories.
Track EXACTLY what you eat every day, don't guess and don't assume anything. Don't use quick add calories - studies have shown people tend to seriously underestimate when they do that. Clean up your diet to include healthy choices. Just because you have enough calories to eat a tub of 100 calorie pringles or oreos, it would be better to eat a small apple or a small salad.
Also, when you are tracking correctly, make sure to eat all your calories. If you go over, KEEP TRACKING. It will help you to be honest with yourself when you look back over time to see what's going wrong.
Are you exercising? Looking back at your exercise log, there was nothing. You can lose weight with diet alone, but you'll end up skinny fat. Even if you only add 20 minutes of walking to your routine, it's better than nothing.
As for your new pill or whatever it is. That could be the cause - but that means you just need to work a little harder. Don't let it be an excuse.0 -

I know exactly what you're saying. When I first started i bought a ton of those 100 calorie packs because I didn't think I could give up junk food. Well last week I saw how much carbs those things have and I'm definitely quitting them! Also, I don't track veggies but I guess I should start to get a better idea of of how many servings I'm getting. Trust me I eat a LOT better than I used to. I used to eat 3000+ calories a day and McDonalds every day!
As for excercise I walk every day with my husband for 20-30 minutes. Honestly I don't trust MFP calculator so I don't count it. Plus I used to do that when I wasn't trying to be healthy so I don't think it's much of am improvement. I do WII Active 3x a week too.
Also, I don't have a new pill. I have implanon. If you don't know what it is please look it up because it does change your body drastically so it's not an excuse.0 -
Don't go off weight along. Be sure to measure your waist etc. In most cases you'll find that the weight you put on is muscle and that your belly, thighs, arms etc are getting thinner/smaller.
Remember to not give up, Rome wasn't built in a day.
I managed to loose 26lbs in three months and now have been the same weight for nearly a month. No matter what I do my weight doesn't go down. What keeps me motivated is the though of the weight gain I'd experience if I'd stopped exercising and using MFP. I know that I'd end up back to my start weigh and then try dieting again.0 -
I took your advice and read up on the implanon. I wouldn't worry about it making you have a harder time losing weight. I am on the depoprovera (oh geez can't spell it) shot, and everytime I come close to being due for my shot I gain about 3-4lbs. That weight comes back off within a week and isn't truly weight gain, just water. Try not to get discouraged. Your body weight fluctuates a lot. Also, take a look in the mirror because you are beautiful rather you weigh 200 lbs or 115 lbs. You can do this!0

Oh I know the feeling! I usually have 2-3 days in a row gaining a total of 3-5 lbs before I have a loss and weighing once a week scares me since I never know if that will be an up or down day, it's gotten a bit better the past few weeks but total pain in the butt, and I so blame not having TOM for the difficulties! I have the Mirena and just stopped breastfeeding at the beginning of this month and have only had TWO periods since April 2007 (two kids since then...)
Definitely track your veggies though.I took your advice and read up on the implanon. I wouldn't worry about it making you have a harder time losing weight. Your quite lucky, with out changing my eating habits at all, and becoming MORE active I gained 60 lbs on that dreaded shot. I have yet to come close to my weight before it.....0 -

I used to have depo. That's how I gained all this danged weight in the first place!!!0
