You can eat whatever ratio you want to with MFP.

People with those issues should be working with a qualified dietitian who will help them develop appropriate meal plans.0

Diabetes Forecast magazine from the American Diabetes Association has an article that might be helpful at http://www.diabetesforecast.org/2012/mar/kind-to-kidneys-meal-planning.html Also, ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietitian as Branstin suggested so you can get individualized help with meal planning and recipes. ~Lynn /Glucerna0

Low carb is NOT high protein, it is moderate protein and higher healthy FATs which seems to confuse everyone, and most articles/press are so biased and alarmist people can;t find the facts easily.… or are scared off.
go to www.davita.com for stages for CKD and diet needs. protein must be limited somewhat, but there are many foods and few real limits, low carb is especially good as potatoes, yams, and higher phos./pott. foods are not eaten.
dietitians are trained to promote high carb USDA plate with 45-65% in grains..not good for diabetics and CKD..but a moderate group of great foods is available if you do your homework. A dietitian can guide you, and you can choose to lower the carbs yourself to find a sweet spot for loss, nutrition and satiety, which is important for any diet if you want to stick with it. LCHF is becoming more popular for many reasons of health.
MORE research is proving diabetics can eliminate most processed carbs and grains and get them from veggies and some fruits.0 -

Probably you can eat fats. Find a very good dietician. (some are better than others)0
