Outdoor exercise ideas

So I love taking a Saturday morning to spend some time in nature while working out. My favorites have been rock climbing/ bouldering, hiking and mountain biking. What are your favorite outdoor exercise ideas and what do you do when the weather starts getting colder? Do you op for indoor exercise or preserve?

I love exercising outside too... I live in Wyoming so there's not much else to do besides enjoy the great outdoors! Favorites are trail running and mountain biking. When winter comes (which is LONG here at 7200 feet), I switch to x-c and telemarking skiing, and I also try to keep running when the weather is decent and/or on an indoor track. Where do you live?0

I'll do almost anything that gets me outside, though the older I get, the less I like the cold/winter.
That said, I run pretty much year round, I bike pretty much year round (though the road bikes go away once they start putting salt down on the roads). I'm trying to get back into skiing, but it's hard since it requires pretty much a full day to do. I snowshoe occasionally.0 -
I just moved to Texas last year after being in Massachusetts my whole life so it's a huge adjustment for me! I live in Dallas and the traffic is terrifying so riding my bike in traffic is no-go for me. Also, the landscape is completely flat so that also crosses off hiking up mountains, which I loved. I honestly don't know what to do outside except run! Texans...help me out! What do you do?0

Exercising outdoors is my favorite way to work out, too-- I only do indoor workouts in fall/winter when it is dark by the time I get home from work. I love hiking, road biking, trail running, and in winter, cross-country skiing. I also have extensive dirt roads to run on when the local trails aren't a good option. I enjoy snowshoeing in winter, though I didn't do that last year because my snowshoes broke and I haven't yet gotten new ones.
I think, if you live in an area with good amounts of snow, cross-country skiing is one of the best workouts there is (in fact, I have read that-- it's a full-body exercise). It's also super fun and doesn't require going to a ski center-- once you get used to backcountry skiing/bushwhacking, that's even better exercise and gets you to some lovely places.

With winter coming on, I break out my camping gear, my hiking gear, my alpine climbing gear. I'll go to the shooting range more, put some miles on my feet with a heavy pack, and then mix it up with a little yoga and rock climbing.0

I love in Atlanta so biking in the city is not exactly my cup of tea and it doesn't really snow enough for there to be snow activities around. but it gets cold enough that I don't want to go outside! I suppose I'll squeeze in the last bit of hiking I can and then switch to just indoor yoga and climbing. thanks for the ideas though!0
