Yes. I'm surprised when people don't add evoo to marinara.0 -

That would greatly depend on which nutritional value you were shooting for. A good marinara sauce has a lot of nutritional value....so does olive oil (which I usually put in my marinara as well). The red sauce is going to have more micro-nutrients in the way of vitamins and minerals...olive oil is a great source of heart healthy fat.0 -
I try to aim for sauces with few ingredients, lots of veggies, and lower sugar. Here are a couple good ones. I'd love to hear about other "no sugar added" sauces!

both are good! its even healthier to make your own pasta sauce at home instead of buying from a store0

My marinara includes olive oil, and generally I add lots of vegetables too.
Plain olive oil is fine, but seems a boring topping for pasta and would have a lot fewer micronutrients. Sometimes I don't bother making a full sauce and just sautee some veggies and protein (shrimp is good, but there are numerous options, obviously) in some olive oil and add that to the pasta.
I see no reason to buy jarred stuff. Making your own is much tastier.0 -
Try the Rao's. Promise. Just once.0
