Hey Y'all.
So about 3 and 1/2 weeks ago I was doing a workout video and I tore a bunch of ligaments in my right ankle. I still have have to wear a brace at all times. The doctor said it would take at least 2 weeks to heal, but it would never be fully healed (?). So I tried doing Turbo Fire again a week ago, but it was too painful. I still can't put my foot in the"I'm wearing high heels" position. So my question is since the doctor said it would never truly heal, should I still workout even though it feels weird? Its not really a pain anymore just a weird feeling. The feeling scares me because I do not want to damage it more. Will I always feel this feeling or will it go away, and I am free to workout???

I would not push it. Feet and ankle take a lot longer heal. If it feels weird on your tippy toes don't do that part0

While I can't advise on your injury....I have a chronic pain at the front of my right ankle resulting from a severe sprain last year. The lacing tecniques below are for different areas of injury. It may help you. Is helping me. I use tech #3.

When your doctor said it would never fully heal, did he mean that you would have 100% mobility? That's true to a certain extent. Ligaments do grow back as strong as broken bone. But once the tears have healed themselves, you can still exercise, but you'll feel that part of your body doesn't move as it used to.0

I would try swimming and other activities that would strengthen the ankle while not hurting it. If something is painful on that ankle, I would stop. I think a little soreness is ok. You can also write the alphabet with your ankle.... go through the capital letters and then lowercase several times a day. That will help strengthen it as well!0

My doc keeps telling me that she is married so I can quit injuring myself just for a reason to come see her. She also says that after dislocation my knee twice, that I shouldn't be able to lift the weights I am currently using... but that since I am able too I might as well stick with it. She also said I am contributing greatly to her boat payment, so I should lift more.
She is a swell gal, and has a wicked fast jab.0
