I have my best friend's going away party on December 20 (5 weeks away).

I currently weigh 130 lbs (lost 7 lbs already), and I'm 5'2" tall with a small/muscular frame. I really want to lose as much weight as I can before that date to appear slimmer.

I have been eating a very healthy diet (egg whites, nut butters, fruits, vegetables - no bread or pasta). I drink spinach/kale, unsweetened almond milk, banana shakes each morning too. I know I should be drinking more water though. I am just curious how many times per week I should do cardio to help with this. Is this one of those cases where the more I do, the better it will be? Or is it possible to over do it?

Any advice is much appreciated!! :)

I would suggest to do heavy weight lifting with some cardio. This is what I did to lose 64 lbs in 10 months. It really works great. When you do cardio, do high intensity training, such as max effort sprints. Doing 6 30 second sprints (with rests in between), is actually more effective for calorie burning than a hour of low intensity cardio such as jogging.

In five weeks you'll probably lose between 2 and 5 pounds. Use a food scale, do cardio combined with strength training, and be patient because it can take some time (especially as you're already at a healthy weight).

You actually like eating that stuff? As long as you stay below your calorie count, you can eat whatever you like and lose weight. How much cardio is too much is really just a question of how much you are conditioned for it. If you are just starting, you'll need to start out slower or you'll hurt yourself. On the other hand, professional cyclists will ride 15 miles on an "off day," because it is better for their muscle recovery.
