Macros = protein, fat, carbs. Which make up your calories.
E.g. if your goal is 2000 calories, then you will split those up between fat, protein, and carb intake. So if you did a generic 30/30/40 (percentages) split for protein/fat/carbs, it'd look like this:
Goal: 2000
Protein: 600 cals, or 150g (600/4)
Fat: 600 cals, or ~67g (600/9)
Carbs: 800 cals or 200g (800/4)
If you had 500 calories left for the day, maybe 10g of fat and a few g of protein but mostly just carbs left and you were like "I really want to eat an ice cream sandwich right now," and you see that 1 sandwich is 8g fat and 20g carbs and 1g protein, then that's 156 calories, so you can eat this if you want because it fits within your calorie and macronutrient needs.0 -
Thank you! Very concrete and helpful!0

Macros - fat, protein, carbs.
Fat - everything fat free yoghurt is not. But avocado is a good example of a fatty food.
Protein - something meaty or beany.
Carbs - has 3 divisions. Carbs, fibre and sugar. Think potatoes, bran cereal, or fruit.
Basically, macros are what a specific food is made up of.
Each one is used differently by the body. Examples: fat is used for some digestive functions. Protein for helping to maintain muscle. And carbs for brain functions and quick energy.
Our bodies need a balance of all 3 macros to maintain a healthy balanced diet.0 -
You guys rock!!! Thanks!0

Your macro goals depend on your fitness goals and how you're going about exercising. If you're trying to lose weight, doing a bit higher on the protein and lower on the carbs is helpful. If you're trying to gain muscle mass and lifting heavy, then you'd want higher carbs for energy. What are your goals?

Hey! Thanks! Well, I am about 5'9 and 160lbs. I do stronglifts 3x a week, followed by 30 min cardio. Eating 1650 cals a day, minimal carbs and lots of protein. I would like to be a cut 140 max. Still have TONS of body fat.0

I'm 165, doing FB 3x a week (was doing upper/lower 4x a week) and no cardio, but I am cutting on 1890. Chances are you could increase your intake! Assuming ~40 mins for your lifting days, then that's on average 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day (add up the workout times, divide by 7, then divide by 60 for the calculator)

Also something I didn't mention, protein and carbs are ~4 calories per gram, and fat is ~9 calories per gram. Hence the division above by 4 and 9. I caluclate my caloric intake by multiplying my grams as opposed to just reading the calorie counter.0 -
Football (soccer)
Score more goals than the other person
THE OFFSIDE RULE:
You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eying them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses. It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.
Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk around the other shopper and buy the shoes! At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! But, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!
