Lifting and yoga???

Do you fellow lifters also do yoga??? Are there benefits to doing yoga in addition to weight lifting? Would you recommend it?
How often should I do yoga, and is it okay if I do it on the same days I lift? At my gym there's only yoga in the mornings, so I would go to yoga in the morning and lift at night. Or should I do yoga on different days?
Sorry for all the questions.

I do both. If I lift, I won't do a super intense vinyasa class the same day, but maybe a yin or more hatha-like class. I typically alternate days, but that is more a time issue (can't go to the gym for an hour, then commute to my yoga studio for an hour class, work, etc).0

Yoga, or any stretching at all, is a great compliment to lifting. IMO, stretching doesn't get the attention/importance it deserves.
I'd keep the yoga to more of a stretching/mobility poses vs some of the more intense "power" yoga type classes.0 -
For a challenge I was in last week, I lifted more than usual and my off days were spent doing yoga. Great combination! I felt strong, limber and no DOMS.
I agree with skipping power or sculpting yoga.0 -
On Mondays I do a hatha (relaxed, stretching) yoga class on my lunch break and then SL 5x5 at night. I'm a relative newbie at both lifting and yoga, and haven't noticed any issues doing both on the same day. But as others said, some types of yoga can be intense, so if you're going to do lifting the same day I would stick with a hatha class.0

I lift 3x a week and do yoga once a week (hot hatha yoga). I feel like yoga helps me with my range of motion and has helped me focus on my breath a bit more, especially when I'm lifting. I also do a bit of light yoga/stretching after I lift (when I force myself to). I feel like I have less soreness when I do. I know it's beneficial, but I'm guilty of neglecting stretching.0

Yes.
Yes.
I do "power" yoga and vinyasa ( I think that one, it's flow). Personal benefits are better movement, better balance, better body control, and beautiful things to look at.
I recommend it.

Agreed! I do the stretching/mobility mostly after heavy lifting, and the power yoga or HIIT on a different day.
