How many calories should a 280 pound woman eat to lose weight?

I'm starting a weight loss regime and was just curious about how many calories I should realistically eat?

If you entered a realistic goal in with your stats, the number MFP provides is your base calories. You will earn additional calories through exercise, but remember, most only eat back a portion of those as MFP tends to overestimate them.0

I'm 5"6 at 276lbs currently, started at 291, and trying to lose 1lb a week. I want to lose slowly and steadily. I'm at 2000 cal per day as my goal. I do not eat back exercise calories burned. But that's me.

Here's a bit more help on how to enter new goals...
Click Goals > Change Goals > Guided, Continue, enter in your accurate information and realistic goal weight, and click Update Profile. MFP will give you good information on how many calories you should eat each day to safely lose weight. Good luck!

I lose at least 2lbs a week at 1600 ish..I walk daily, but I rarely eat those calories back unless im actually hungry. I set MFP to lose 2lbs a week and sedentary..the extra walking calories are there if I need them.0
