This week I had a spike in weight that I couldn't really explain with anything else, other than I went from my normal 7 hours of sleep a night to about 5 a night. So I decided to experiment and see if not enough sleep was playing a factor. All I gotta say is, whether or not my weight does anything, I am SOOOOOOOO a fan of nap time.!!!!!!! seriously.

nap time thoughts?

I'm all about nap time. I try to fit a nap in at least a few times a week. Gives me some good quality snuggling time with my kitty.

LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY! i I wish I could have a nap time. I teach kindergarten and I have a 4 month and a 4year old. I am lucky to get 4.5 hours a night of sleep. I can't wait until my princess starts sleeping through the night!

i started a new job a few weeks ago, and it is pretty active, it also makes it so i have to get up at 6am each morning so i have time to walk my dog and eat breakfast before going to work. as i am a nightowl, and when not working was going to bed anywhere from 2am onwards...my sleep has been pretty rocky even though i have been trying to get to sleep by 11pm each night (rarely do i make that time set). as a result, when i get home from work, and have something to eat....it's all about nap time after. i can't stay awake to save my life. and i too have noticed that my weight is not going down like you would think it would be since i am so active now. my mom was thinking maybe the sleep is having an effect. all i can say is naps are not a bad thing to experiment with! hehe

I'm in the first trimester of my third pregnancy with two toddlers running around, so naps are my friends right now.

Not getting an adequate amount of sleep definitely affects your weight loss in a negative way. Make sure you get 7-9 hours every night for your weight loss, overall health and mental function.

Naps are a glorious way to refresh the body and mind. Just a 15-20 minute power nap in the day can be just what is needed to grab your second wind and power through the rest of the day. Sleep gives the brain a chance to reset and recharge. I am absolutely an advocate of power naps.

When you don't sleep, you don't digest properly. It's a fact. When I don't sleep I don't piss as much in the morning, and my other end isnt as active either. Unless your eating more food, or not being honest on your logs, its just the sleep factor and its all water/food weight. Over long periods of time, I suppose it could lead to real weight gain. Trust me on this, I've tested it myself lol. This past week I was a few pounds higher from a crazy weekend where I didnt sleep much. And I took a nap one day and 4 hours later I pissed 2 pounds away.

I'm personaly not a napper (unless I'm dead-tired or sick); I have a hard time sleeping at night if I nap. However, I like the thought of a little cat/power nap... Anyways... I found this site http://www.napsounds.com/

""The Power Nap sound track also takes advantage of all NapSounds features. Neuro-Linguistic Programming is used in the text, binaural beats induce relaxation state and a smooth overall mix enables you to relax quickly and efficiently by feeling natural, peaceful and free.""

There are 3 different "napsounds" to choose from... I don't care for the dude's voice but I guess that's alright... I've only used this a couple of times but on the site it says something about them changing the "sounds" every few days so maybe that dude isn't on all of them???
