If you're getting the pulp, it isn't really juicing. You are drinking smoothies, even if they are vegetables. With juicing you are infusing your body with much more of the nutrients at a time. Smoothies fill you up with less produce because you are also getting the bulk. I did a 10 day juice fast last year and it was wonderful for my body. My aches and pains all disappeared and I felt fabulous for months afterwards.

I enjoy smoothies almost every day now. Your best bet is to start with recipes with a higher fruit to vegetable ratio but then get brave enough to experiment. Your taste buds will adjust and you will be able to adjust your fruits down over time. My favorite smoothie is just spinach, banana, and blueberries. With unsweetened almond milk and water. Unfortunately, this combo isn't pretty as it looks like mud, especially if you add in a carrot. You have to get over wanting it to look pretty. I usually wind up adding things I wouldn't ordinarily eat but that are nutritious, like peppers and tomatoes, as a way of getting my vitamins in.

I only followed a recipe for the first few times, then learned what I liked and didn't like. But I resolved to drink everything I made since I'm allergic to wasting food. Thankfully my experiments only failed a couple of times.

I have a vitamix that I use. I love it and it blends everything. If you don't like the pulp then you can strain it through a cheese cloth. I get my ideas from vitamix website and pinterest.

Ah, smoothies. At my old job at a health food store, we made smoothies for people. One of the most popular was kale, apple, lemon, and ginger. I know you don't really want a lot of fruit in there, but you could get the tiny 55 cal apples, and you still get the good effects of the kale and ginger. I don't even like kale that much and I loved the combination.
