There was a recent post this week, and I forget how I even stumbled across it, that was talking about setting MFP to maintain current weight and finding out your "base" calories. Then take 20% of that and when you lift weights, you eat those extra 20%. That's just part of the thread. I can't find it! Anybody remember or did they mark it. Thanks!

That's not calorie cycling, that's maintenance via net method. You are saying you want to eat at maintenance on rest days, and then add 20% to the intake on workout days - so eat back exercise calories.

Or are you saying you want to eat at a 20% deficit on rest days and then eat at maintenance on workout days? This will lower your average deficit to probably 10-15% instead of 20%.

Thanks! I think I've been reading too many things lately, :)

That is exactly what I was talking about. I'm a "have to see it on paper" kind of person. I have a hard time just "doing" it in my head! If that makes sense?

There was something with 20% and then something with 15% and eating more and then eating less on days not working out. I'll keep searching. But you got the gist of what I was getting at. Thanks!
