IIFYM Help

I know this might sound silly, but is there anyone who might be willing to walk me through calorie counting using IIFYM? I know it should be straightforward, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Do I count calories, or macros? Or both? And what's the best way to go about it? I honestly haven't counted calories in so long, I think I'm just overwhelmed at the thought of all of it but as I get closer to my goal weight I know I should be paying more attention to my macros, so I've been thinking about giving it a try.
Thanks in advance!

Calories and macros are linked. In every gram of protein there are 4 calories. Carbs have 4 as well. Fat has 9. So counting macros is counting calories.
Personally I pre-log my food and I fill my diary in this order: protein first, then fat (that's never a problem honestly), then making sure I get a few servings of veg. Carbs are the red-headed stepchild of my diary-- I do everything else first and whatever's left can be carbs.

I don't know much about it, but people here are always talking about the IIFYM website. You should check it out!0

IIYFM is my favorite! I use it to tell me my calories and my macro's for how much exercise I do. Macro's are just a fancy thing they call your Fat, Protein, Carbs etc. You want to make sure you are getting enough for your body to fuel your body. So, I work out 6 days a week doing weight training and cardio. IIFYM has me set and 2360 calories, 266 grams of carbs, 66 grams of fat and then 177 grams of protein a day to give me enough fuel and energy to conquer my workout and lose weight at the same time. So I just stay within these perimeters.0

check out the :flexible dieting" ebook by Krissy Mae Cagney. It's amazing and she gives you the formula to calculate your macros. Worth every penny. For me, it's easiest to calculte my calorie goal/macros, then divide by how many meals I eat so I know what I need to aim for each meal. At the end of the day, I load up on whatever I have left, be it a can of tuna, some toast or cheese... or Oreos haha.0
