Should I weigh my meat raw?

    Okay thanks! I was just about to edit that to add that when I look for how many calories in an oz of boneless, skinless chicken breast, it doesn't usually specify if it's raw or cooked meat. I will weigh it raw from now on. :)

    Doesn't matter. Weigh it however is most convenient to you, just use the right nutritional info. I weigh both raw and cooked, hasn't stopped me from losing weight.

    If the entry doesn't specify raw or cooked, do NOT use that entry. Only use non-asteriks entries. If you mean the label on your meat doesn't specify, well.. it is nutritional info for raw.

    You can see in my diary that I use cooked entries (I use my own My Foods entries which are based on USDA information), in my recipes I usually use raw. Works fine for me.

    Yes. Weigh it raw or go by what is on the package.
    The expectation is that you will
    ~weigh it raw
    ~cook it
    ~eat it.
