133 grams of each

Red skin - 96 cals

Regular (i guess brown skinned?) - 102 cals

Sweet - 114 cals

and this is all according to google. So i guess I should stick to red skinned potatoes when I have the potato craving, yes? Or does someone have other numbers?

red skin and regular potatoes cook up differently and provide different experience in eating in texture, etc. And sweet potatoes have a totally different flavor profile. Different ones work for different purposes.

For the 6-18 calorie difference does it really matter? Shouldn't you eat the one that most closely matches your particular craving?

For accurate comparison, you might want to add nutritional values as they vary quite a bit.

    Hey Spud Lover,

Are these weighed before or after cooking?

Flavor doesnt matter to me - I'm just interested in confirming that these calories are correct. And yes the slight calorie difference matters because I need to make sure I can build it into my meals and stay in my deficit

Got it. So 4.7 ounces or 133 grams of taters is what you are after and accuracy. I think you're close in terms of accuracy. From red to sweet is an increase of 18 calories and if you mistakenly consume those extra calories you could walk an extra 300 yards that day(300/1760 yards) = close to 18/100 calories. Or maybe eat 2.35 ounces during a 150 yard walk. The average caloric burn during 1 mile is 100 calories. 100 calories being an approximation since LBM(lean body mass), body weight, the average air speed of an African laden swallow, are factors which can make the 100 calorie estimate be higher or lower.

If time permits, also check European swallow and Monty Python on you tube. No reference to tubers but lovely dialogue from the Holy Grail movie. Good luck on your Quest(not the bar, yes the Grail). . . .
