Bad For You!!! It will destroy your life!!! I lost my wife to Aspartame, then I lost my job because they found out I was on Aspartame. As a reference to how bad it is for you and how it can destroy your life.....OJ Simpson was on Aspartame the day he "went for that drive". Let this be a warning to you! Run dont walk from this stuff.

Thanks for linking to a ridiculous article. Is that what's supposed to prove that aspartame is bad for you? Aspartame is made up of the amino acids phenylalanine and aspartate. To get the equivalent amount of these amino acids from diet coke that you get in 4 oz of chicken breast, you'd have to drink 18 diet cokes. Aspartame is not bad for you...

How is it good for me?

    Is it bad for you?

Just because something is not bad for you doesn't mean its good for you either.
False dichotomy. Given most of the evidence, its just neutral. It can be good if it helps you stop cravings for things filled with sugar or bad if it did the opposite. Its like a knife, good or bad depending on how you use it.

A family friend is actually ALLERGIC to aspartame.

My daughter is allergic as well. Depending on how much she ingests, reactions range from a mild rash to difficulty breathing. We have found it even in products that are not sugar free.
