HRM recommendations

My mom wants to get me a Fitbit or something for Christmas. Any recommendations.? I don't have a phone to have to sync it to.

    I am also looking for a good HRM....not sure what to pick yet, but be aware Fitbit and similar devices are not HRM...they are activity trackers. I thought they were HRM too. But they use a motion sensor and your height/weight/age stats to guestimate your calorie burn, instead of your HR.

    Your title says HRM, but your OP says Fitbit? Two totally different devices with different purposes. Is your mom wanting a step tracker like a Fitbit? Or an HRM for training purposes?

    I use the Garmin 15--HRM and activity tracker in one watch
