Direction Post Crash Dieting

I've lost a little over 60lbs after crash dieting for a year and I want to treat my body better and further future weight loss only if it is the healthy way.
I upped my calorie intake from around 600 a day to maybe 1200 because I both work and go to school. I'm still 20-40lbs from my first goal weight that I hope will keep going down to a gradually healthy weight, but I fear upping the calorie intake that I will gain a lot back very quickly.
I wanted to regularly get into going to the gym and just doing an hour or so of cardio to help build some tolerance and work from there.
I just don't know if this is the right direction, if significant weight gain is to come first, what to do exactly. Slow weight loss can be frustrating but..I don't know.

You may well put on some water weight doubling your calories ...ignore it, you need to eat properly and it will disappear just as quickly.
1200 should be the minimum you eat excluding exercise ie you should eat back your exercise calories so you don't drop below 1200 net
The aim of the game is to lose weight at the most calories and keep it off
Try a weight lifting programme mixed up with cardio
Build your calories until you are eating enough to fuel your body and get the benefits
Lose slowly
Don't crash and burn

by adding 1200 calories your body should be well adjusted to that limit in about 3-4 weeks, after that go ahead and add another 100-200, your might gain some weight but no more then 5lbs total. it will mostly be water retention and the actual weight of the food you are consuming. basically we want you to lose weight at the highest calorie level possible. After doing this process for a few months most women can lose weight at 1800-200 calories, I would love to help you along the way0

Good job doing the right thing. Remember, learning to eat in moderation and NOT restricting yourself, gives this weight loss sustainability.0
